Sunset
Photo: Door County Sunset
I never really appreciated sunsets until our first visit to Maui back on ‘06. It wasn’t long after that I started to stop and take note of sunsets from wherever I happened to be at that time of the evening.
This shot is from Ephraim, WI in Door County, just outside the condo we stayed at in April this year. While the colors and the water might bear similarities to its counterpart in the Pacific Ocean, there’s still that little bit of Aloha missing.
Photo: Wailea Sunset
Admittedly, the colors in this shot don’t match the true beauty of seeing the sun set in South Maui in person, but then again, if pictures could replicate dramatic scenes like that, there’d be no reason to go back.
I must have took about a dozen shots of this sunset, with this one being my favorite. It is actually a cropped version of the original (similar to this one), which was actual taken portrait style. The clouds in the sky above the sunset were equally magical, and it wasn’t until this most recent trip had I started paying more attention to those puffs and streams in the sky above.
Photo: Black Rock Sunset
One of my favorite shots of Black Rock at sunset. it’s amazing how many people come out to see the cliff dive ceremony at the Sheraton every night and stay to enjoy some of the most spectacular sunsets on the island.
Photo: After Sunset Boat Ride
The colors in the sky just after sunset were reason enough to snap this photo, but once I heard the motor on this boat whizzing by, I decided to make him part of the picture.
Photo: Sunset in Ephraim
This was the sunset that welcomed us back to Door County when we arrived in Ephraim last night. In fact, it was the only thing that was here to welcome us. Even the office at the resort was closed already, which made for a nice, quiet evening.
I wasn’t entirely ready to start shooting pictures yet, so I snapped this one with (now Cindy’s) Canon SD890 on the way to dinner. I’m hoping we have just as lovely conditions tonight and tomorrow so I can get a little more focused for these.
